Stimuli‐directed alignment control of liquid crystals (LCs) with desired molecular orientation is currently in the limelight for the development of smart functional materials and devices. Here, photoresponsive azo thiol (AzoSH) was grafted onto gold nanoparticles (GNPs). The resulting hybrid GNPs were able to homogeneously mix with a commercially available nematic LC host, as evidenced by Cryo‐TEM. Interestingly, the LC nanocomposites were found to undergo reversible alignment transition upon light irradiation as a consequence of the transcis photoisomerization of the azo groups on the GNP surface. LC molecules in either planar or bare glass cells were able to change their alignment to vertical upon UV irradiation, while the vertically aligned LC molecules returned to the planar or random orientation under visible irradiation. Neither the azo thiol molecules nor the unfunctionalized GNPs alone promoted the alignment of the LC molecules in the system upon light irradiation. The photoinduced vertical alignment without applied electric or magnetic field was very stable over time and with respect to temperature. Furthermore, an optically switchable device based on the photostimulated reversible alignment control of LCs was demonstrated.  相似文献

Noninvasive imaging of kidney clearance kinetics (KCK) of renal clearable probes is key to studying unilateral kidney function diseases, but such imaging is highly challenging to achieve with in vivo fluorescence. While this long‐standing challenge is often attributed to the limited light penetration depth, we found that rapid and persistent accumulation of conventional dyes in the skin “shadowed” real fluorescence signals from the kidneys and prevented noninvasive imaging of KCK, which, however, can be addressed with renal clearable nanofluorophores. By integrating near infrared emission with efficient renal clearance and ultralow background interference, the nanofluorophores can increase kidney‐contrast enhancement and imaging‐time window by approximately 50‐ and 1000‐fold over conventional dyes, and significantly minimize deviation between noninvasive and invasive KCK, laying down a foundation for translating in vivo fluorescence imaging in preclinical noninvasive kidney function assessments.  相似文献

A new benzamide (1) and four known compounds (25) were isolated from endophytic Streptomyces YIM67086, and their structures were determined as 2-amino-3,4-dihydroxy-5-methoxybenzamide (1), 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoic acid (2), phenylacetic acid (3), N-acetyltyramine (4) and p-hydroxytruxinic acid (5). Compound 5 was first found in the microorganism. The antimicrobial activities of compounds 15 and antioxidant activity of compound 1 were investigated.  相似文献

A new 19-oxygenated steroid, 25-acetate-nebrosteroid K (1), and five known steroids (26), along with one known 19-hydroxy steroidal glycoside (7) were obtained from the gorgonian Dichotella gemmacea collected from the South China Sea. The structure and relative configuration of 1 were elucidated by using comprehensive spectroscopic data including NOESY spectra. Compound 1 represents the first example of 19-oxygenated steroid with a 19-oic acid methyl ester group isolated from gorgonians. All of the isolated compounds were evaluated for lethal activity to brine shrimp Artemia salina and cytotoxicity against A549 and HL-60 cell lines. Among them, 1 showed strong lethality towards A. salina.  相似文献

Helical vinyl aromatic polymers are emerging as interesting chiral materials due to their dynamic tailorability, synthetic simplicity, and outstanding chemical and physical stabilities. This Personal Account discusses long‐range chirality transfer in the radical polymerization of vinylterphenyl monomers and tunable stereomutation of the resultant polymers. It begins with a general introduction to the design, synthesis, and characterization of helical poly{(+)‐2,5‐bis[4′‐((S)‐2‐methylbutyloxy)phenyl]styrene}, the first one of this series of polymers. Then, long‐range chirality transfer during radical polymerization of terphenyl‐based vinyl monomers is explained. After that, the chiroptical property control of the resultant polymers by means of the transition from kinetically controlled conformation to thermodynamically controlled conformation and external stimulus is described. This Personal Account concludes by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the strategy of using vinylterphenyls to obtain optically active helical polymers and providing a short outlook, especially emphasizing the importance of tacticity on the chiroptical properties of polymers.  相似文献
